My new job is in house sound guy at Eclipse/ Hardware Bar in Harrisburgh! I'll see you there on the 24th! Can't wait. If you get there early enough, we'll have to go to Neato Burrito or Second Street Pizza, where they have CHEESE on their products, to grub!

Looking forward to seeing you a Shad's in a few!!!
N.C., Pennsylvania, United States - April 14, 2003 at 7:02 PM EDT
Great show last night at Coyote (as usual). Thanks for playing the Hooters. Highlights from last night (which all seem to feature Steve): the glove during Billie Jean, sticking out his gut, and dancing like the crazy man in the white tux. Please post those pictures soon - they are priceless!! Worst part of last night: the drunk jerk that kept sitting on stage during the show and stole my water. Can't wait to see you guys in May!!
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States - April 11, 2003 at 12:00 PM EDT
Make sure you get to philly early everyone! we are playing the first and third sets of the night. The first set will start at 10:00 p.m. We will alternate with the band Manic.

Is the new CD ever going to be ready???
United States - April 9, 2003 at 4:19 PM EDT
Well gentleman, I am quite distraught that I will miss your show at the Hot Rod, but I'll definately be there in spirit. The road trip from Mexico to PA is just a little too far. I was in a little market and heard one of the songs that you play....of course you play it much, much better, but it brought back great cheesy memories. I haven't been able to find a good 80's discotech here, so I guess I'll just have to wait patiently until May 10 to see you again.
Amo el queso!

you're right this is not a political roundtable. save it for C-span
United States - March 23, 2003 at 11:17 PM EST
AMEN to OCD baby!!! This all sucks--but I remember vividly the day the WTC fell. We can't tolerate an attack on the most awesome country ever. This is not a site to bring your political views to, but we must support the troops and their families for a safe, and honorable return!!
United States - March 23, 2003 at 5:32 AM EST
OCD would like to vow support for our troops and our President. We realize that WAR is a necessary evil, and to remove those in power who shouldn't be, force must be used. This war is about oppression of innocent men, women and children. A tyrannical nut is in charge and needs removed before weapons of mass destruction are used on innocent neighbors. May God bless America, and watch over our troops abroad. The only things that we are ashamed of: the Dixie Chicks are from Texas, and they are popular. Let the good times roll, Velveeta!

United States - March 11, 2003 at 3:59 PM EST
Wow.....looks like the anual bashing of the bands contest has kicked off a little early this year. That's too bad. Let's reflect for a moment shall we? Ok, let's see now....Velveeta, entertainers for folks of all ages and generations. Musicians who play venues of large sizes such as The Post Gazette Pavilian and The Gorge In Seattle....entertainers for folks of all ages and generations. Do you think this is going somewhere? Why it sure is. Velveeta plays covers. Is that a big deal? Why of course not don't be ridiculous. And yes they do have a band within the band that keeps up with the times, and that band plays some pretty rockin stuff. Some people think they lack talent because they play other people's music. Have you heard any good rap lately? No. Why? Because they sample everything and change it. At least Velveeta keeps everything the way it was meant to be played. Fun. And besides how do you think every good band gets it's start? They all played the music they grew up with. I for one am greatful for Velveeta, not only because they have givin this "struggling singer" a chance to have fun on stage, but greatful for their friendship as well. They are a talented group of guys, and they are also a group of guys who take time out for their fans. There are a lot of groups out there, ones we have to pay up to one hundred bucks to see, that won't do that. It's like they say on tv, never underestimate the power of cheese. See you guys on Saturday.
PS: Kudos to entry 792 for backing up the band.
Moon Township, Pennsylvania, United States - March 10, 2003 at 9:38 PM EST
I was at a club in Altoona and someone requested "Cars", by Gary Numan and Steve had never played that song. So they went through it a little bit and learned it right in front of the crowd. They still sounded better than most bands who had practiced it. My opinion, these guys are excellent musicians.
Pennsylvania, United States - March 10, 2003 at 6:41 PM EST
Playing originals does not make you great or more talented than anyone else who plays music. If you've ever watched Velveeta and actually paid attention to the level of skill and musicality they bring to the stage (just watch Bones for awhile, for instance) you would see, dare I say, extreme talent. These boys have obviously been at their instruments for a long time and they play together very well, something that is not as easy as they make it look. Most bashers of bands like Velveeta are usually frustrated musicians or friends of frustated musicians who just wish that they could be doing the same thing.
I appreciate music and good musicians, doesn't matter what they're playing. If it's good stuff and done well, people will be there, whether "haters" like it or not. Velveeta has proven that for a long time, and I'm "grateful".
United States - March 10, 2003 at 4:23 PM EST
Pennsylvania, United States - March 9, 2003 at 10:00 PM EST
Well, if you peruse the website, you would see that they also have an original band that writes their own music within Velveeta. Until all these anonymouses can get up off their butts and do the same and be successful, you can't really have a valid argument. Yes, everyone works, that wasn't the point. They don't have to do this kind of work and if you are going to be an ingrate about it, don't make yourself miserable by going to a show! Find a band who does all original songs and sit in your seats staring because you don't know the song. Velveeta is fun, that's their point. They aren't trying to get a deal. Everyone needs to get off their damn soapboxes and resolve to use their love of '80's music only for good. Can we quit hatin'???
California, United States - March 9, 2003 at 9:39 PM EST
Extremely talented???? Talented, yes - but come on, they sing songs written and performed by other people! Two more comments - one is in regards to the fact that they work 3-4 nights a week to entertain people - that's great , but honestly, everyone works. Should we feel particularly greatful to them? Secondly - it was Mardi Gras and flashing is a tradition! Why would that consider someone a ho?
United States - March 9, 2003 at 7:12 PM EST
First and foremost this goes out to all the haters, whiners, and complainers especially #650 David Vidoff. You are not forced into seeing these extremely talented gentlemen perform. To say the least it is a privilege to see them perform so keep your baby fits to yourself. Ok sorry that guy really pissed me off guys. So how are you doing? I was really bummed that you didn't make to Scranton but that is water under the bridge.I cant believe it been over a year since I partied with you guys.
I have worn out your Cd from listening to it so much. Can't wait to see you guys, hopefully soon. Now this goes out to Bones , whats up man i wrote you a couple of e-mails waiting to get a response from you. Also to anyone who can answer this I know a band interested in arts fest and they want to know how they could get into it. I do have a Cd of them if someone from Velveeta wants to hear it. Let me know if you guys could. Miss all the good times and some bad at the Saloon and the Crowbar. Hope to party soon. Keep rocking and the hell with the HATERS, you guys rock!
Archbald burb of Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States - March 9, 2003 at 1:34 AM EST
I don't know exactly how many shows, but I figure about three years worth. you guys are the best and still the best show going. Thanks for the great memories.

Hey Anonymous Panther, get the stick out of your ass
Pennsylvania, United States - March 6, 2003 at 10:22 PM EST
IT WAS FAT TUESDAY!
You know----Mardi Gras!
Did you really expect anything less?
United States - March 6, 2003 at 6:30 PM EST
I mean if you are a ho-- you are a ho--it doesn't take velveeta to tell you that you are degrading yourselves. How about that for pathetic and we don't need to comment on what was little now do we...
Italy, United States - March 6, 2003 at 5:02 PM EST
Someone has some insecurity issues. A group of tremendously talented musicians, each in a long term sort of relationship, who work their asses 3-4 nights a week to keep people entertained are pathetic little boys. I guess college is a growing experience---hopefully it will happen for the anonymous chick.
California, United States - March 6, 2003 at 12:44 PM EST
Are you kidding me? ha!
United States - March 6, 2003 at 12:31 PM EST
I just have a comment regarding your show on 3-4 at Nick's. One of you stated something about it not being your fault that 'women were degrading' themselves by flashing your band for beads. We didn't feel it was degrading - we just considered it feeling sorry for you pathetic, little boys.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States - March 6, 2003 at 11:18 AM EST
Hey boys! Thanks for picking Nicks for recording your next live CD-what a great way to show you appreciate your 'Burgh fans! Looking foward to next weekend.....coming from out of state just to be a part of it!
