To Entry 163:

I hate to get too deep on ya and all but I have to disagree. You can judge the band as people by their music. When they are on stage they give off a certain persona. Each one is different and each one will be liked or disliked by someone. Personally, I could care less what they do off-stage. If Brent wants to charm every female between 90 and 100 pounds and just over the age of 21, that's his perogative. After all, the band was his brainchild and we can all thank him for that otherwise we'd have no guestbook, no Velveeta and no John and Mikey to gawk at.

Rock on Velveeta. What time is that show in Ardmore next weekend?

Yeah, yeah, freedom of speech. If you despise them so much, why are you here? Let us enjoy Velveeta and the guestbook for true fans!

Bones, Brent, Brian, John and Mike: You guys are great! True fans come out to hear your music, not judge you as people. Keep doing what you're doing. : )

Entry: 163

Well, I wrote 158, and yes, I am very aware of freedom of speech. It just seems to me that this is not a place to bash Velveeta or its members. These guys work hard to play good music. Unless you're their wife or child, why should anything other than their music matter? It's a free country and you can say what you want, but if you don't like the Velveeta guys, then just don't sign the book. Let the true fans enjoy what it's intended for. Thank you. : )

Hey guys,
Great show at M-squared! Thanks Brent for coming and saying hello to my friend and I, that was quite a surprise!
Now, to whoever is writing things about me in this guestbook, leave me alone! I am just a fan just like everyone else!
Whoever is writing, don't you have better things to do?
Thanks for the last message #140, I do not need Valium or whatever it is.
Whoever you are, email me and tell me things via email because I am tired of all these things about me in the guestbook.
A guestbook for bands is to have fun and say nice things about the band and not fans.
You see my email address, write to me and tell me things, do not say things in the guestbook. Stop it!
I will get you for harrassment, whoever you are.
Sorry guys that I wrote this, but this needs to be fixed, once and for all.
Will see you guys at Nick's in July.
Have fun,

Thank you Bob for sticking up for me; Entry #131. People like you are nice.
I do want to find out who is doing this to me because this is so unfair.
I am a proud Velveeta fan, and just like all of you, and if some of you cannot understand, then it is your problem, and I would appreciate it if whoever is writing those things about me to stop or I will really try to find out who it is.

All right, after initially inquiring about a poll topic, I was happy to see the response. I could not decide on a topic so I went for an easy one that everyone can join in on. The topic is "Favorite Velveeta Song"...meaning the one song that you would most want to hear above all at one of their shows. Pick only one and vote only once. The songs up for balloting are those in the most recently posted songlist on this website. I know some of the songs are not played anymore, and new ones have be added, but hey, I don't know what they are, the cheese seldom plays in the Windy City! Have fun with it.

Vote For Your Favorite Velveeta Song!

Is anyone else noticing a pattern here? Not that the guys are not adorable but I am sure they already know that. And as much as they probably love getting compliments like that, I think people are forgetting what they are really about...music. Can I just say WHOA I had no idea that Bones was married. Just thought I would share that...but here are a few suggestions for topics:

1. Most likely to realize you are already wasted and buy you a shot anyway

2. Most likely to mess up a song first and cause everyone else to do the same thing

3. Most likely to start a crazy little background dance just to attract attention when they are NOT the ones singing...

Here are a couple off the top of my head.......

Most likely to have had a boyhood crush on Debbie Gibson.

Most likely to be be confused with a professional wrestler.

Who has the "cheesiest" hair do?

Who sings your favorite Velveeta song?

Most likely to get in a bar room brawl.

Some suggestions for the poll:
1. Most likely to end up on the cover of "Rolling Stone"

In reference to my entry below, keep in mind this polling can be very flexible. This doesn't have to be a 'ladies theme' - I could also make it something totally different - perhaps a list of songs that you would like Velveeta to play - and then you could vote on it. Post your feedback.
Behold the power of cheese.

Velveeta Challenge for the Ladies (I hope)

I've noticed from a recurring theme in many of the recent guestbook entries that a diet high in cheese increases the female sex drive. Rather than fill the guestbook with dozens of anonymous entries ranking your hunk of cheese, it may be fun for one of the ladies out there to come up with a topic for a poll. I have set up several programs that track voting. The choices for whatever poll someone comes up with are currently as follows:

1)Brent
2)Brian
3)Bones
4)John
5)Mike
6)Vote for all
7)Are you serious?

When thinking of a topic, be nice, and keep in mind John and Bones are married and I don't want angry wives coming after me...therefore think of a topic that is silly but not too perverse. Try not to get too personal either, I don't want this to create any friction - it is supposed to be fun. Hope someone makes use of the poll - I think it will add more interactivity to the website and make it more fun. Make your announcement for a topic visible in an entry above so other cheeseheads know what they are voting for. If someone comes up with a better idea (needing different choices) for an interactive poll, just write it in the guestbook. P.S. I hope there are no bugs in the program - I check back periodically to see if it is still working.

Being a moderately crazed male fan of the band, I can't say this contest does much for me. But potentially there could be benfits to it. Such as: Higher women to men ratio, more women wearing hooker boots and open tops to get bands attention, catfights etc.

I think it would be interesting if the band was able to play music and "perform" in the contest at the same time. Songs fitting the occasion would include: Kiss by Prince (imagine Brian singing!), I Want Your Sex by George Michael, or the Velveeta stand by "I Touch Myself." The coronation ceremony should include Brent singing "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred. That would be hilarious -- and worth the cover by itself!

Hey what happened to you guys playing the brewery? I miss those days of my undergraduate career. Ah....... the memories. Maybe you'll play again before I leave for graduate school.

In reply to the list
"IS ANYBODY DRUNK OUT THERE" is a good quote that Brent uses.

Re: Why does Brent get all the attention?

Personally, I would vote for size of genitalia.

How do you compare yourself to other golfers?
By height.

While we are on the topic of the other band members though, they are definitely all cuties. But they are not just pretty faces, they are all nice guys too. Just wanted to tell you that I love you guys! See you at Brownies Saturday!!

Sounds like another topic for a top 10 list. But since I have writer's bloc, hopefully other readers of the guestbook could help me finish the list.

Top Ten Reasons why Brent gets "all the attention" (as referenced by #86):

10. "It's the hair, chicks dig the hair!"

9. That hand held keyboard that he sometimes uses brings the ladies in droves!

8. Two words -- WILD THING!

7. Five more words -- WHERE DO WE GO NOW!

6. Do I have to remind everyone of the aforementioned mohawk?

5. 80's chicks often confuse him with the actor who played Blossom's dad (also a keyboardist!!!!!!!)

Well I donít feel so bad knowing I only fit two lines on the Velveeta crazed obsessed fan list. Yet my heart is broken to know Brent flirts with everyone. (Sigh) Maybe Iíll go find some other not nearly as special keyboardist and try to make Brent jealous. Then I will fit three on the list! (sigh again) Darn! He's jsut to cute to give up on.

Lauren,
I have to agree with the last comment.Every time I hear a 80's song I say that.I'm so used to Velveeta that the originals don't sound right.Have a good day.

Yes, Master Much, it's the very same Jess and Lauren. And I have yet another to add to the list-- You've begun to refer to 80s songs covered by the band as "Velveeta songs" and when you hear them on the radio by the original artist, they just don't sound right!! And by the way- I do actually have one of Bones' drumsticks myself!

I must say that is an awesome list 'Brownies Frequenter'. I think about seven of them apply to me. I too must be a Velveeta stalker. I have pictures of all Velveeta members hanging above my fireplace. That is not exactly true, I don't really have a fireplace. What's up Jess and Lauren (Entry #77)? Been to McD's lately since our adventure? Hope this is the same Jess and Lauren I think it is. Anyway, take care Velveeta, fans, and fellow fanatics!
Behold the power of cheese.

Here is another couple for the list...
11. Wake up the next morning wondering why you have one of Bones' broken drumsticks.
12. Watch America's Most Wanted waiting for the FBI to track down the punk that stole Kriley's 'Mean People Kick Ass' guitar.
