Steve, you were wonderful last night. Even though no one could ever replace John, you are definitely the next best thing!
I can't wait to see y'all in Altoona Saturday night for my last show ever. No more Velveeta for me :(
Anyway, much love and luck to you Steve. I'll miss you all.

John I'm so sad I missed your last show. Best wishes always. Iím leaving Monday myself for Florida so I will always remember your era in Velveeta as my best band worshiping days.
Steve I saw your first show last night and I think you fit in wonderfully. Itís only right that if one hottie leaves the band they have to replace him with another hottie. May all the future Velveeta fans adore you as much as I know I would have if I got to stick around.

Saturday night's show was incredible. It was very fun, yet sad at the same time. State of Love and Trust was awesome---even though you didn't think it sounded good. You are all amazing musicians and John will definitely be missed. But I am sure you will always kick some serious ass...Long live the cheese!!!

Where to begin...until learning of Dudeman's departure from the band earlier this year, I thought there were three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Dudeman standing on the right side of the stage busting what appears to be a move while singing Mickey.

I can still (amazingly) recall first seeing Velveeta on what so happened to be Dudeman's birthday in October of 1996. From that point on, I spent the better part of the next 3 years through grad school watching Velveeta two, three, and sometimes four times a weekend. The awesome memories of that period of my life are countless. Having always been a fan of live music and an avid guitarist, Velveeta - and Matthews in particular, allowed me to feel part of something I only wish I had enough talent to be part of...and I truly appreciate that more than John or anyone in the band could know.

I don't want this to sound like an obituary...it is just the beginning of the next chapter for Velveeta, and I know it will be a good one...I will still look forward to seeing the band play whenever I visit State College in the future. On that note, I wish the best of luck to Steve from BSG. I look forward to seeing you play as part of Velveeta the next time I head up to state.

On a side note, I just wanted to mention how cool it was to see the Zipper and the Summer of '69 guy singing with the band. It definitely stirred the memories and made the night better than I thought it could be.

Long live the Dudeman and best of luck to John, Megan, Faith, the dog, and the gimp that lives in the toolshed outback (kidding ;-). The best of times in your life are only beginning with the family...keep in touch dudeman.

Saturday @ the Crowbar was the shiznit!!!! DudeMan, you will be very missed. I wouldn't have missed that show for the world. Once again I got sloppy drunk and stole Enter Sandman and the backups for Glory Days from the man of honor. Sorry John. That's what happens when Mike and Velveeta mixes it up. By the way, thanks for gettin me the tounge, Mike!!!! Love you John. The cheese rules!!!!!

Wow! Toph, you bring tears to my eyes! Thanks very much for the lyric.

I can't believe my last weekend as an official Velveetian is here. It really has been tougher than I thought it would be to come to grips with leaving Velveeta. I had a long time to prepare myself for it but I still get all misty-eyed thinking about it. Velveeta has been down a long, long road and I will miss my boys very much.

I know I'll be turning up at shows from time to time to make guest appearances and ROCK THE HOUSE but it won't ever be quite the same for me again.

To all the friends I've made through all the years, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING THERE! I will miss you all terribly and I'll remember the good times forever - or at least until the next blackout ;)

I hope you'll all keep in touch with me so I don't feel completely left out of the social sphere in which I've spent the better part of a decade! I put my home email address at the bottom of this signing in case our webmaster (Biggity-Big-B) moves the link to my biography page somewhere buried and hard to find on the site.

Believe me when I say that I won't disappear from the face of the earth! Once a Cheese Head, always a Cheese Head. At the very least I'll have to check up on Steve Bentz to make sure he's doing a good job on bass and not screwing up too much. Speaking of Mr. Bentz, I wish him the best of luck in his new career as the bassman for The Cheese. I know he'll fit the bill perfectly and if I can offer him one piece of advice, it is this:

I know Brian will kill me for bringing that up (especially after the Floating Stage show on 6/19) but "the shot" has been a tradition of the Velveeta rhythm section since time forgotten, and it's not a tradition that should end with me! Put that one in your pipe and smoke it, Bri!

Well, I've said my piece and I should go now.... remember all the good times! I know I will. I will miss my bandmates so much I can hardly define it. We're like brothers now and although we've had many fights and tough times, like any close family we've gotten through those times to become better friends at the end. I can already feel the loss, and I'll see them for my final road trip in only a few hours.

Best of luck to you, Brent, Brian, John, Mike and Steve, and to all our friends! I will miss you all terribly....

High above the mucky muck, castle made of cloud.
There sits Johnny-Boy, sitting oh so proudly.
Not much to say when you're high above the mucky
muck, Yeah!

What is the secret of your powers?
Why don't you take me far away from the mucky muck

Now it's time for me to tell you about young John
Arch-rival and nemesis to Johnny-Boy with powers
COMPRABLE to Johnny-Boy!

What kind of powers you ask?
I dunno, how 'bout the power to misspell a name?
That do anything for you?
That's Marshell-tation, Dudeman!
How about the power to switch a fairly common last
name with another fairly common last name...
and then completely misspell it...
With an "E"...?
That's the power to confuse you!

History of Johnny-Boy, a.k.a. young Dudemaaaan!
Riggah-goo-goo, riggah-goo-goo.
A bass god to behold, playing bass notes from his
And blasting forth with kick ass harmonies, yeow!

Johnny-Boy, what is the secret of your power?
Johnny-Boy, won't you take me far away from the
mucky-muck man?

Well, Johnny-Boy, a.k.a. Dudeman joined forces;
and formed a band the likes of which have never
been seen, and they
called themselves... Da Cheese. That's right,
It's he, (Bones, Mike, Brent), and Kriley!
That's me.
Behold, the power, of the Cheese!

Come fly with me, fly!

Johnny-Boy, what is the secret of your power?
Johnny-Boy, won't you take me far away from the
mucky-muck world?
Oh, Take my hand!
Young Duedman, and we'll fly!
Bring out your P-Bass.
There's the hydra.
Slice his throat!
And drop on him the funk bomb!
You take the high notes,
I'll take the low.
There, the crevasse,
Fill it with your mighty juice.

You will be missed! Velveeta will never be the same
without you, but your legacy will live on! Looking
forward to your swan song Saturday. Rock on, my
friend, rock on.

Dangerous? Whatever. Dangerous people are people like you who can't just come to see a band and have a good time. Instead you have to stand there and make judgments about people who want to have a good time and enjoy flirting with a band member.
Who cares who/what Brent wants? People like to have a good time--that's why they go. Just because someone likes a particular member doesn't mean they are crazy.
So far as elbows, why don't you just stand in the back instead of near the stage and maybe you won't get hurt. And if you aren't having a good time, try leaving.

His name is Rob Milnes (he's always in the front row!) and he goes to ALL of your shows at Cafe on Thursday nights. He only missed one of your shows this past semester due to a class project. The members of Velveeta would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of local musician Jason Zarecky. Jason, co-owner of Alley Cat Music and guitarist for Original Soul Project passed away this week. Jason, we will miss you.

It was my first Velveeta experience this Saturday at Nick's and I have to say I was impressed. You reminded me alot of Uncle Sam who plays at my friend's bar in Bridgeville, The Rhythm House Cafe. I would like to see you guys play there. Is that out of your area?

Hey guys, just thought I would drop a note to say hello. We didn't get to make it to the last show because of a big b-day party planned for a close friend, and I wish we would have been able to make it. But, I downloaded the CD that day, so we had it cranked and instead we brought Velveeta to us! It was awesome. You guys did an awesome job of recording. I hope you get another one out soon, if that is in the big picture. Take care guys.

Well, unfortunately I can't make Saturday to see the greatest 80's gig around.....that sucks. But I will be able to make the rest of the years shows...anyhow, I got a question guys on the CD....are the songs listed in order as they appear on the CD or does it now really matter which order you record them in?

Hey guys. Thank you so much for letting me play with you guys at Brownie's. I hope you all had as much fun as I did (although the $40 for shipping my drums to Ardmore was, a bit, in my opinion, outlandish). It was exhillerating to get behind the drums again, and to play with the quality of musicianship that you all have made it all the more enjoyable. Bones, it was my pleasure, and I hope you name your child after me, rergardless of sex. Thanks again.
